Olympic Airlines

Olympic Airlines began operating in its current form on December 12th 2003, following the integration of all Olympic Airways and Olympic Aviation flight operations by Macedonian Airlines, which was renamed to Olympic Airlines, and until then only performed charter flights. The internationally recognized “rings” logo and the experienced and highly trained flight staff of Olympic Airways and Olympic Aviation were transferred to Olympic Airlines. Olympic Airways was founded on April 6th 1957, following the acquisition of “TAE – Greek National Airlines” by Aristotle Onassis. The first OA flight was carried out at dawn on that day, from Athens Airport “Hellinikon” to Thessaloniki, with a DC-3 aircraft flown by captain Pavlos Ioannidis.
The new company had few means at its disposal: just 15 Douglas DC-3s and DC-4s propeller-driven aircraft and 865 employees. Olympic Airlines was founded on December 12th 2003, after taking over all of Olympic Airways, Olympic Aviation and Macedonian Airlines flight operations. OA’s aircraft wear the world-known six-rings logo, introduced by the Greek ship tycoon, Aristotle Onassis, back in 1957. Olympic Airlines have been certified by international organizations as one of the safest airlines globally; a fact that is verified by the results of repetitive checks performed by both national and international authorities.

Trans Guyana Airways

Trans Guyana Airways developed out of a need to support a sister company involved in the mining industry of Guyana. Due largely to the limited accessibility to mining areas, the mining company became dependent on air transportation. Thus, in 1956, the founder of Trans Guyana Airways Mr. Manoel Clement Correia purchased his first aircraft. Michael Correia Snr. continued this air transportation development by buying a Britten Norman Islander to further support the operation. Three generations later — today — grandson Michael Correia (jnr) has been a leader in introducing turbine technology to Guyanas private sector aviation community.

Trans Guyana Airways was the first private aircraft owner to introduce the Shorts Skyvan — a twin turboprop aircraft; and the Cessna Grand Caravan in Guyana. In 1997, Trans Guyana Airways Kayman Sankar Aviation merged — a successful venture which brought TGA to the forefront of commercial aviation in Guyana. As Guyana’s leading domestic scheduled carrier, Trans Guyana Airways aims to provide accessibility to remote locations at an affordable cost. Trans Guyana Airways currently owns and operates a fleet of seven aircraft of which six are commercially operated. The fleet consists of: One Shorts Skyvan, two Cessna Grand Caravan; three Britten Norman Islanders and one agricultural aircraft.

Mandarin Airlines

Mandarin Airlines was established on June 1, 1991 and was originally a joint venture of China Airlines and the Koos Group. The Chinese name of Mandarin Airlines was therefore created as a synthesis of characters from both investors. In the beginning, Mandarin Airlines mainly operates direct flights from Taipei to Canada’s Vancouver, Australia’s Sydney and Brisbane. On October 31, 1992 the China Trust Group pulled out their investment in Mandarin Airlines, thus turning the airline into a company wholly owned by China Airlines. They are committed with an attentive, caring, and pragmatic attitude to provide safe, economic, and efficient service to their customers”.

Although Mandarin Airlines was originally established with the objective of operating long-haul flights on international routes, they redefined their objective after merging with Formosa Airlines: besides continuing to operate domestic flights, it is our future direction to expand flights on regional and international routes. Newspaper and magazine collections are available for your reading pleasure. The MANDARIN magazine is their special offering for you. It brings you reports of latest news of Mandarin Airlines as well as cultural and sightseeing trips to our flight destinations. It is the reading pleasures that you cannot miss during your flight.

Island Air

In 1980, Princeville Airways (now Island Air) was incorporated by Colorado-based Consolidated Oil and Gas as a subsidiary and began scheduled service between Honolulu and Princeville, on Kaua’i, with two DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft. While service was extended over the next seven years to small community destinations on other islands, Princeville Airways’ main function was to transport passengers to and from the Princeville Resort. By early 1987, Princeville’s fleet had grown to eight Twin Otters. In 1992, the company applied to register “Island Air” as its trade name, giving it a distinct identity. In 1995, Island Air received FAA “Part 121″ certification, which allowed it to operate larger aircraft. That April, Island Air took possession of its first 37-seat Dash 8, ushering in a new era of service.

Island Air is Hawaii’s leading regional carrier, serving airports on all major Hawaiian islands. The airline offers flights between the Islands of Oahu (Honolulu International Airport), Maui (Kahului Airport and West Mauis Kapalua Airport), Molokai (Hoolehua Airport), Lanai (Lanai City Airport), Kauai (Lihue Airport), and the Island of Hawaii (Hilo International Airport and Kona International Airport).
