Astral Aviation is a licensed cargo airline that acquired its Air Operators Certificate (AoC) and Air Service License (ASL) from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority in the year 2001. Astral Aviation was subsequently designated by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kenya in November 2006. Astral Aviation is located at the Cargo Village at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and the main objects of the company are the provision of reliable and cost-effective airfreight solutions which are marketed under the concept of “African Freight Solutions” Astral operates a fleet of DC9 Freighter, Fokker 27 Freighter, Antonov-12, Cessna Caravan aircraft out of its dual-hub at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Lokichoggio Airport, both of which are located in Kenya. Astral plans to acquire additional freighter such as B737-300/400 Freighter and DC8-63 Freighter for its planned route expansion on the intra-African network.
