TimAir

TimAir Limited was established in 1983 by Tim Moxon as one of Jamaica’s first “air taxi” services. TimAir quickly became one of the most popular charter airline companies on the island, providing air services for thousands of visitors to the island, as well as to the local business community — and is the air charter service that has been in continuous operation the longest, with the best service for its passengers and an impeccable safety record. Today, TimAir Limited — with its staff, including Customer Service Manager Colleen McConnell and an able group of office personnel, pilots and ground crew — provides the best air charter service available on the island.

The company continues to be ideally based at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, which handles the majority of arriving holiday arrivals. In addition, TimAir maintains an office at the Negril Airport to serve the many popular resorts and hotels on the western end of the island. The staff of TimAir Limited extends a warm welcome to visitors to Jamaica — “The Land of Wood and Water.” Of all the current “air taxis” on the island, TimAir is the charter airline that has been in continuous operation the longest, with the best service and an impeccable safety record!

ScotAirways

ScotAirways commenced services in April 1986 as Suckling Airways, a regional airline based in eastern England, and named after founders Roy and Merlyn Suckling. Early airports served included Ipswich, Cambridge, Manchester and Amsterdam. Services were operated by a fleet of Dornier 228 aircraft, and the airline quickly became known for providing an on-time, reliable and friendly service to its customers, who were mainly business people from the local areas served by Suckling Airways. Throughout the 1990′s, Suckling revised and expanded its operations, including establishment of a head office at Cambridge Airport, and new operating bases at Luton, Southampton, and Stansted, together with routes such as Cambridge/Amsterdam, London Luton/Paris CDG, London Stansted/Zurich and Southampton/Amsterdam.

The latest turbo-propeller aircraft from the famous Dornier manufacturer is the Fairchild – Dornier 328. It is a derivative from the older Dornier 228 but is such a quantum leap in technology as to be almost unrecognisable. The main advantages of the aircraft from a pilot’s point of view are its performance and the ‘glass cockpit’ normally associated with larger aircraft such as the Airbus. The 328 has exceptional take-off and landing performance allowing it to operate safely from relatively short runways such as London City and Dundee. This performance is derived from the combination of a jet engine powering a relatively large propeller.
