Loganair

Aviation in Scotland has a brave and pioneering heritage, and Loganair is proud to maintain a pioneering spirit that has set the pattern for the airlines reputation. From modest beginnings Loganair has developed into a regional commuter airline with a comprehensive network of scheduled services, and is now one of the longest established airlines in the United Kingdom. It is the continued support and enthusiasm of the people we serve which has given us the strength to expand, and which is the foundation of our success. Loganair began in 1962 as the air taxi service of the Logan Construction Company Ltd, operating a single Piper Aztec from Edinburgh.

Almost immediately, it was apparent that there was a demand for scheduled services in addition to the primary role as an air taxi, and as such Loganairs fleet grew. As the network expanded to take in more remote islands and communities, Loganairs scheduled network began to emerge. Cargo can be carried, subject to load, in the hold of Loganair’s aircraft on the scheduled network Cargo may be pre-booked on Loganair’s scheduled network, though every effort will be made to ensure that your freight is carried on the first available flight. As such, perishable goods should not be presented to Loganair, unless by prior arrangement. All freight consignments should be presented to Loganair’s handling agent at the airport of departure, and collected from the handling agent at the airport of arrival.

Air Niugini

The beginning of Air Niugini could hardly have been less auspicious. It was September 1972, less than 18 months before Papua New Guinea was granted self-government and agreement in principle had already been reached regarding the formation of a new national airline. Then came the fall of the Australian liberal coalition and the election of the first Labour government to gain power in Australia in 20 years. Overnight the whole project was thrown in doubt. Disagreement turned into acrimony as the various parties and government fought for bigger stakes in the company, whilst concerned TAA and Ansett pilots expressed concen over their uncertain future.

Air Niugini Engineering Services operates some the world’s recognised maintenance support to their operational fleet which consists of the following aircraft types. All Maintenance are done in house ranging from the (lowest Check) Line Checks for the Dash 8 fleet and Service Checks for the F28 Mark 100 fleet. Apart from this lower Checks they also carry out Heavy Maintenance such as C Checks on their operating fleet. Air Niuginis in-flight menu is catered by it’s own in-house Catering Service facilitated by qualified trained chefs and professionals ready to deliver to the growing demands of the travelling public. Their service caters for the in-flight menu for both domestic and international flights.

Aer Arann

When Aer Arann operated its first commercial flight in 1970, its ambition was to provide a reliable, value for money air service to 1,000 islanders, located in Inishmore, off the west coast of Ireland. And to do it with classic island charm. Since those days not only has Ireland, and its islands, changed remarkably but the model of the global airline industry has been rethought and reconfigured, bringing with it a host of challenges not least of which is the commodisation of what Aer Arann still believe is a highly personalized service. Over the years Aer Arann has implemented a programme of well-managed changes – incremental expansion supported by market investigation and business savvy, investment in best in class technology and unfailing customer driven strategies.

There is also another unquantifiable asset that is the spirit of independence that fuels Aer Arann. This vigor seized the opportunities in the early 80s to branch out from an island service to offering flight services within Ireland, beginning with the Galway to Dublin route. Soon after self-determination saw the company build their own airport and terminal facilities in Connemara, Co Galway. In 1994 ownership of the company changed hands and under the stewardship of Padraig OCeidigh and a hard-working team, the untapped potential of offering a complete air link service between major cities throughout the island of Ireland, was to be realised.
